CAMAROCARO in a wijld interview ...

Alfred J. Kwai and the fox in „The Animals of Farthing Wood“ are the personal heroes of Carocamaro – so it’s no wonder that the art of the artist is especially about wildlife. Camarocaro reveals some more in a short interview.

wijld:
How did you come up with your pseudonym?
camarocaro:
My pseudonym wasn’t my idea. :D Back then at school some guys called me like that – probably because it rhymes. I simply took on that name when I needed a stage name. I couldn’t come up with something better.

wijld:
What kind of art do you like?
camarocaro:
The style of old masters fascinates me. I could stand in front of paintings by Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Dürer or Caspar David Friedrich for hours (slightly exaggerated). I also like the strong contrasts in the erasures of Käthe Kollwitz.

wijld:
Do you think art should make some kind of statement or mean something?
camarocaro:
I’d say yes. Due to the personality that flows into the work you craft, it automatically has some kind of meaning and makes a statement.

wijld:
From what or where do you get your inspiration?
camarocaro:
I see something that I want to understand. Then I start drawing it and learn in the meantime comprehending it. When I start a graphic or a design it almost creates itself – step by step everything comes together. However, what the actual result is depends also a lot on my mood.

wijld:
You make designs for wijld because ...?
camarocaro:
... because I want to see my work on a WoodShirt.
… because wijld is stylish and sustainable
… because I like to support good things
… and because Angelo asked me to do that. :)
