MOITAO in a wijld interview …

MOITAO in a wijld interview …

With fine art, illustrations and digital graphics, Moitao moves within three different genres at the same time. This shows how curious the Chinese artist is and instead of having a tirering effect on her she really enjoys going wild in these three different areas at the same time.

wijld:
Are there particular things that you prefer to create?
Moitao:
Right now I’m totally enjoying my work on my dog series within my collection „Digital Diamonds“. I love the fact that I’m networking and connecting with dog owners from all over the world. I get to know a lot about the stories behind, I’m able to do more research and expand my knowledge. This pushes my creativity in the moment the most.

wijld:
What book are you currently reading?
Moitao:
I read a book from Taiwan. The name is: "好繪本如何好" (translated: "How good is a good book about illustration?"). The book tries to explain in an analytic way how to illustrate a book in an optimal way. The various classical examples help me with my project. Oh yes, I’m working on an own character. :)

wijld:
What’s your favorite piece of you?
Moitao:
The picture „Light“ means really a lot to me.
In 2008 I drew the first version of it on a usual A4 paper. At this time I toured through France all by myself. In 2015 I drew it again. That time on canvas.
Then, it got its final title, I named it after a song title of Fabian my husband.

wijld:
Which product would you love to design for wijld one time?
Moitao:
It would be great to design things that people take with them or use when they go out of their house, as t-shirts, bags or bottles and so on.
Currently all my work is hanging inside of buildings at walls. So it would be cool to see my work on the streets, too.

wijld:
Scarlett or Penelope?
Moitao:
Scarlett, definitely Scarlett.
