Hummelgrafik in a wijld interview …

Hummelgrafik in a wijld interview …

Oli lives in Untergiesing, a rather not so efficiency-oriented district of Munich in Germany: "It's a bit more easy-going here and the river Isar and the mountains (two of many reasons for this) are also not far away. The subculture is easily to explore but nevertheless very lively which is an additional bonus”. Find out more about Oli and what places in the world still inspire him and his wonderful artworks.

wijld:
What kind of music can you really get along with in your work?
Hummelgrafik:
That usually depends on the artwork: while drawing I like to listen to soundtracks, instrumental music and jazz. When I'm working on a record cover or a shirt design for a band, I also listen to the band's music. And this varies from indie to punk to post-rock or metal.

wijld:
Is there a certain place in the world that inspires you or has inspired you once?
Hummelgrafik:
There are some. For my album cover artworks I mainly use my own photographs. Places like Georgia, Mexico, Guatemala and Iceland have fascinated and inspired me the most so far.

wijld:
Your favourite quote?
Hummelgrafik:
"People always getting stopped for stepping out of bounds. Don't give up just get back in and go another round. Don't give them what they expect, let's keep them on their toes." (Big Boys/Funk off)

wijld:
Coffee or tea?
Hummelgrafik:
Both, I am an opportunist. First a strong black tea and then it continues with coffee.

wijld:
You design for wijld because ...?
Hummelgrafik:
... I believe that sustainable, fair produced, animal free and well cut shirts (rare in combination anyway) are great and worth supporting.
