Men's cardigan made of wood – how sustainable can that be?
By using wood as a raw material, we can tap into a domestic resource. To turn wood fibers into a usable fabric, the cellulose is first extracted, which is then processed into lyocell fibers. Compared to the production of cotton fabrics, the use of lyocell can reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 75% in all production steps, from harvesting in the field or forest to the final fiber.
