Wood - a love letter to your skin
We create sustainable and super cozy clothing made from wood. Our mission: fashion that’s good for the planet – and feels so soft and comfortable that you’ll hardly want to take it off.
How wijld came to be
wijld was founded in 2015 when Timo had an idea at the toy fair in Nuremberg: to invest his time in something valuable, something that brings long-lasting joy and is created in harmony with nature.
He began searching for materials that are both sustainable and comfortable to wear – and discovered wood fibers that are softer than cotton and much gentler on the environment and skin.
From this idea grew a team that now includes over 10 employees – and the collections no longer consist only of WoodShirts but now also include socks, hoodies, underwear, sports shirts, joggers, and much more.
What drives us
wijld stands for conscious fashion that is good for you and the planet.
We believe you don’t have to choose between sustainability and comfort – you can have both: clothing that is good for the environment and still feels incredibly comfortable.
Our wood fibers come from sustainably managed forests and are processed in a closed-loop system where water and chemicals are reused.
This creates shirts, tops, and basics that use significantly less water, chemicals, and CO₂ than conventional cotton – while being softer, smoother, and more skin-friendly.
Softness you can feel
When people put on a wijld shirt for the first time, they almost always say the same thing: “It feels much softer than regular cotton.”
And that’s no coincidence: Our wood fibers are naturally smoother and more skin-friendly than classic cotton – they cause less friction on the skin and flatter it like a second skin.
The fibers stay soft for a long time, even after many washes, and feel cool in summer but cozy in winter.
wijld is therefore the cuddliest, most comfortable, and coziest option when it comes to wearing comfort – whether you’re working, exercising, or just relaxing at home.
